Dry point etching is a wonderfully direct medium in which marks are made straight onto the plate, no acid required! We will use metal and perspex plates and experiment with mark-making and the addition of colour. No experience necessary.
Aluminium etching with copper sulphate is all about creating beautiful tonal contrasts as well as line.
No experience is necessary for this workshop as you will be guided all the way. Printmakers who have worked with acids and aquatints will especially appreciate the simplicity of this method.

Collagraphs are printing plates where materials have been applied to the substrate or where the substrate has been incised or cut away. These textures hold the ink for intaglio and limited relief printing. Collagraphs are an economical and non-etchant technique that can produce exciting and ethereal results.
